The "Orange" curriculum we use Sunday mornings at CrossRoads KIDZ provides different PARENT CUES depending on the age group.
A Parent Cue is a prompt. A whisper in a parent's ear: "Talk to your kid about this," or "Why not try this at dinner tonight?"
CUE is a reminder to do something more to:
Parent CUEs are designed to help parents incorporate conversations about God and His Big Story into everyday moments—during morning time, meal time, drive time, and bedtime. These are designed as part of the larger strategy to connect what happens at church to what happens at home or what we call the ORANGE Strategy.

Nursery and Preschool (Birth - PreK)
The Parent Cue Poster gives parents a quick "CUE" about each month’s theme, Memory Verse and Bottom Line.
You will see this posted on each Preschool door during the month as a reminder of the key things our young kids are learning. |
For parents of Babies and Toddlers, the front page of both versions gives "cues" of things to SAY and DO with your child during 4 busy routine times of the day - Morning, Feeding, Cuddle, and Bath. The back page gives additional parent "cues" for raising your child in this PHASE of their life.
The Parent Cue for parents of Preschoolers (Ages 2 - 5/PreK) outlines each week's focus from what is being taught at church and a REMEMBER THIS to point out the memory verse for the month. The back page of this "cue" is where you will find suggestions for engaging with preschoolers during Morning Time, Drive Time, Cuddle Time and Bath Time.

Elementary kidzEX(perience) - Kindergarten - 6th Grade
There are 2 versions of the Parent Cue. Grade K-4 is Elementary. Grades 5-6 are Preteen. Both versions include all the key information your child is learning throughout the month and each week on page 1. REMEMBER THIS is the memory verse for the month.
The back page of the "cue" emphasizes certain “times” based on Dueteronomy 6:7 to make the most of everyday moments to instill faith and character in the heart of your child. These times are Morning, Drive, Meal and Bed. |

God Time is age graded to make it easy for your child to spend a few minutes with God four days a week of their choice. For Early Elementary kids (kindergarten through 4th grade), parents may want to help their child read and understand how to complete their God Time. For Middle Elementary kids and PreTeens, encourage them to set a time of day they will complete their God Time. Most are capable of having a “quiet time” on their own, once they’ve been taught to make it a priority, schedule time for it, and have a parent prompting them as it becomes a habit.
- The Kindergarten - 1st grade version includes easy to do activities with a coloring page of the Bible Story for the week on the back.
- The 2nd and 3rd grade version includes a short scripture passage to read each day and a short thought based on the scripture. Each day is wrapped up with an ASK, KNOW, THINK or LOOK prompt.
- The version written for 4th through 6th grade focuses each day on 1 of the 4 Faith Skills we teach in kidzEX - HEAR from God, PRAY to God, TALK about God, and LIVE for God.
Make sure to pick up a copy for your child on your way out of Kidz Church in the check-in area.
